“As a child I rarely saw my dad, but I do remember that he would put us to sleep playing the piano each and every night with the sweet sound of his melodies. As time passed, John L collaborated with his son Prince and wrote the sweetest melody ever called Purple Rain along with another lovely melody, Scandalous.
John L. was a melody man; he’d say, “Sharon, your money is in your melody.” During the day John worked a regular day job in Minneapolis, in the evenings he was known in the clubs as The Fabulous Prince Rogers, the leader of The Prince Rogers Combo.
Included in this album are songs written by my father that were never released, songs that showcase his talents for developing sensational melodies and amazing music.”
